Obituary of Margaret V Schmidt

Schmidt, Margaret V. Age 89, of Apple Valley, formerly of Bloomington, passed away peacefully January 26, 2020.

She was born in Duluth, Minnesota to Julius and Linda (Priola) Ritchie (Ricci) and graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1948.

Preceded in death by husband, Gordon and granddaughter, Linda Bogenschutz. Survived by children, Cindy (Avo) Melkonian, Jane (Rick) Ward, Jim (Dar) Walczak and Julie (Brian) Lehman; sister Lovey (Nick) Whelihan and many special grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Margaret loved spending time with family and friends, playing cribbage and cards, dancing and traveling. We will miss her kind and generous heart, engaging personality, and love of reading, cooking and baking. She made a lasting impression on everyone she met. We are forever grateful for the gifts she shared and her enduring legacy which has enriched the lives of those around her.

Our family would like to express their gratitude for the world class health care Margaret received at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota Hospice and NC Little Hospice.

Memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 9201 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington. Visitation 1 hour prior to service at church.

Memorials preferred to church or NC Little Memorial Hospice.

Private interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
