Obituary of James William Johnson

James William (“Jim”) Johnson, born February 22, 1934, died peacefully with loved ones present on August 27, 2019. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Patricia; by his six children, Wesley (Carmen), Jeffrey (Brenda), Amy, Kari, Thomas (Kim), and Joseph (Jaime); his beloved sister, Bertha Engebretson; and by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom were dear to his heart.

Jim did everything he could to be a good husband, father, brother, and friend, and we will miss him terribly while he’s gone. We eagerly look forward to welcoming him back when God calls and Jim answers that call (Job 14:15) in the paradise on earth promised by our loving God, Jehovah, through his dear Son, Christ Jesus, at a time when death will be no more (Revelation 21:3,4).

There will be no funeral service, and his family will scatter his ashes in a pine forest, as he directed. As Jim often said, “I’d rather be visited one time while I’m alive than a hundred times after I’m dead.” (And those who knew and loved him will recognize his voice in that quote.)
