Obituary of Steve Bastie

In Duluth, July 27, 2019, Steve Bastie, “Speaker Steve”/101 Deals, local eccentric and down-to-earth genius, went home to be with the Lord. Son of Eli and Helen Bastie, Steve is survived by brothers Gary (Roberta), Wes (Debra), nephew Gabe (Kristy) and a large extended family. Steve, like his “cousin” Nikola Tesla, excelled in electronics, quantum physics, as well as chess, and a host of other areas.

A memorial gathering will be held at Wussows (formerly Beaners), 324 N. Central Ave., Duluth, on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 2-5 p.m. for all who knew and enjoyed his inventions, wit and complex chess games. A very special thanks to all the staff at the Franciscan Health Center.
