Obituary of Charlene Joy (Young) Johnson

Charlene Joy (Young) Johnson, 86, of Duluth passed away Saturday, January 12th 2019.

Char graduated from Duluth Cathedral in 1951. Fell in love with Kay C Johnson, they married on July 26, 1952. They made their home in Lincoln Park, where they raised 4 children. She was an avid bowler and was on a couple of women's city leagues. She was employed at East West Realty as a bookkeeper. Char also enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at Keystone Bluffs. Together Char and Kay owned a few classic cars and participated in many car shows.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Tara, son Kory, grandson Chad, parents Charles and Victoria Young and her brother Ron.

Char is survived by her husband Kay; sons Kurt (Cheri), Kent (Cherri), son in law Terry Larson (Lisa); grandchildren Chris (Asia), Kurt (Deb), Melanie Eliason (Rob), Cody (Allison), Tyler (Tori); 8 great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Payton & Ainsley Johnson, Landon & Ella Johnson, Andrew & Emily Eliason and Harper Johnson.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 17th at 10:00 am at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth, with a visitation beginning one hour prior.
