Obituary of Matthew Lane Carlson

Matthew L. Carlson of Red Wing Minnesota passed away November 6, 2018 at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minnesota after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 29, 1973 to Glen and Kathleen Carlson in St. Louis Park Minnesota. He graduated from Red Wing High School in 1992. He was an avid sports fan, his favorite being hockey. He was captain of his High School Hockey Team and was an All Conference hockey player. He went on to play Jr. A hockey in Canada from 1993-1994. He loved music, cars and lived his life to the fullest. He was a welder by trade and enjoyed working with Engineers and creating proto-types. He was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Carlson and his Grandparents. He leaves behind his parents, his children, Jack and Joey Carlson, his significant other, Cheryl Olson, one bother Tim (Jenni) Carlson, one sister, Terri (Jeff) Knudsen, nieces, nephews and many friends. A memorial service will be held November 17, at 11:00 am with a gathering at 10:00 am prior to the service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church 320 West Ave Red Wing, Minnesota.
