Obituary of Alice Dahlberg

Alice Dahlberg, 100, born Feb 13, 1924 in Whitehall, WI to Melvin & Ellen Christianson. She died peacefully, May 1, 2024 at Barross Cottages II, Two Harbors MN. Thank You to Cindy & Todd and the caring staff at Barross Cottages for her care the past 5 yrs. Thank you St Lukes Hospice Duluth for making her last days comfortable.

Alice grew up in Brookston MN, graduated from Brookston HS. She moved to the French River area where she met Harold (Pete) Dahlberg. They married November 29, 1942, settled in French River area raising 5 children. Alice worked at Lakeshore Lutheran Home for 24 yrs.

Family was important to Alice. Family gatherings & visits with friends were highlights in her life. Music was her next love. She played the piano, guitar. During retirement she taught many local children lessons on both. Ask her to play the guitar, out it came for her to sing and play her country western songs and hymns. “Cowboy Sweetheart” was a favorite and she was still playing until recently. Alice sang in the church choir. She was known in her neighborhood for her daily walking routine of 2 to 3 miles. She was always busy and so proud of the home Pete built.

Alice is survived by youngest sister Adella, daughter Norma, sons, LeRoy (Barbara) Wayne (Peggy) James (Sandy) dl-Kathy, 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold (Pete), son Glen, sisters Vivian, Florence, Marie, Ruby, Alvina, brother Melvin, grandchildren Debbie, Tammy & 2 great-grandchildren

The Celebration of Life will be held at French River Lutheran Church, 5310 Ryan Rd Duluth with Pastor Kim Sturtz officiating, on May 8, 2024, visitation-11 am, service at Noon followed by graveside interment at Palmers cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial preferred to the church.
