Marlene Joan Welsh (Marne), age 93, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026 at Norris Square in Cottage Grove, MN. She was a resident of Roseville and formerly of Inver Grove Heights and Minneapolis. Born February 12, 1933 in Duluth, MN, she was the daughter of Roy and Bea Dryke, and the loving wife of Don for 51 years until his passing in 2007. Marne was an amazing mother and wife, and she was dearly loved. She went back to college as the children got older and earned her associates degree at Inver Hills College. After graduation she worked for the state of MN as an administrative assistant until her retirement.

Marne was committed to her faith in the Lord. Over their lifetime, she and Don were active members of North Heights Lutheran Church, El Ramoth, St. Patrick’s church (Inver Grove Heights) and Annunciation church (Mpls.). She volunteered at the VFW and for community events at Central Park in Roseville. She was a gifted painter, loved traveling and the great outdoors, including camping, biking, hiking, cross country skiing and snow shoeing. The North Shore (MN) was her favorite place, and she passed the love of it onto her children.

Preceded in death by her husband Don, parents, Roy and Bea, and siblings, Bob, Donna, Rae Jean, Jim and Geri.

Marne is survived by her children, Patti, Barb, Eileen (Jeff), Staci, Bob (Kim), grandchildren, Patrick (Krystal), Mike, Caitlin (Peter), Chris (Sarah), Nick (LeAsia), Charlie (Keona), Keagan (Darin), and great grandchildren, Kieran and Merric, her siblings, Gwen and Dan, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, October 16, 2026 at 10:00 am, Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow at North Heights Lutheran Church, Roseville Campus, 2701 Rice Street, Roseville, MN 55113.
