AUST (Dyson), Janice “Jan”, age 82, of Elk River.  She grew up in Becker, MN and attended Becker High School, graduating in 1961.  After graduation, she attended St. Cloud State pursuing a degree in English. She took a job at Cretex and stayed there for over 40 years until her retirement in 2006.  She married the love of her life Allan “Dave” Aust in 1965. They then made their forever home in Elk River where they raised their daughter.  Summers were spent at Sullivans Resort on North Long Lake and Carefree Country Club in Big Lake.   Jan bowled avidly for over 50 years in the Early Wednesday Night Ladies League where she made lifetime friends and connections.  She volunteered at Guardian Angels for over 50 years where she was a strong advocate for the residents and staff.  She was named Volunteer of the Year for the State of MN.  Jan was known to be generous with her time and reliable to show up for grandchildren’s sports, was the one to reinforce and encourage anyone.  She was a faithful, fun and bubbly personality who would frequently show friends and family how proud she was to be from Becker.  Craft Fairs and Shopping adventures were a favorite treasure hunt with her friends.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Mary (Sam) Olson; grandchildren, Reid (Danielle Ginther) and Libby Olson; sisters in-law, Patricia Dyson, Janet Atzl, Grace DeCoteau, Cheryl Aust, Rosanne Aust, Jackie Boyd; many special nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.

Preceded in death by loving husband of 52 years, Allan “Dave” Aust; parents, Merton and Verna Dyson; siblings, Ray Dyson, Lyle Dyson (Marian), Norma Peterson (Stan), John Dyson (Judy); nephew David Peterson. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 16th at 11:00 at The Church of St. Andrew, 566 4th St NW, Elk River with a visitation at church beginning at 10:00am.  Committal Service for both Jan and Dave will be 2:15pm that day at the Becker Cemetery in Becker, MN.   Church will live-stream the service - go to The Church of St. Andrew
