David Jockisch Obituary

David Jockisch, born April 20th, 1964, passed away August 22nd, 2026.

Born in Alton, Illinois, Dave moved to Champlin, Minnesota, in the 3rd grade. Following his graduation from Anoka High School in 1982, he met his wife Jodi in 1983 they were married from April 7th 1984 until his passing.

Dave and Jodi cherished their nights at ’90s rock concerts. Dave enjoyed making Jodi smile with his award-worthy air guitar and enthusiastic table drumming. They laughed, sang along, and made memories they would treasure for years to come. Those concerts were more than nights out; they were joyful moments that captured the warmth of their bond and the happiness they found in being together.

They spent many years attending hockey games for Nik, Jake and Nate everywhere from Biwabik to Rochester. You could find Dave in the quietest corner of the rink, and occasionally making hand signs to the boys to hit someone, skate faster, or shoot the puck. After years away from the game, you could once again find Dave sitting in those same familiar spots—this time as a proud grandpa. Whether it was soccer, hockey, baseball, softball, or lacrosse, he loved being there to watch his grandchildren play. He rarely missed a chance to cheer them on, and there was no place he would rather be than on the sidelines or in the stands, proudly watching his grandkids do what they loved. They don't have the quiet corner at dance.

When he wasn't with Jodi watching the grandkids, you could find him at a car show with his Chevelle or doing work at the farm.

Dave was a proud son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother. A kind soul who had a way with words both repeatable and unrepeatable, he will be missed by everyone for his sense of humor, his welcoming attitude, and thoughtfulness.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard. Dave is survived by his wife Jodi, mother Jan, sons Nik (Nicole), Jake (Laura) and Nate, grandchildren Isabelle, Jakson, Eleanor, Duane and Winter, siblings Rick, Deb and Steve.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 20th at The Lookout in Maple Grove from 4PM to 8PM.
