Dean Allan Johnson, age 57, passed away peacefully on August 26th at his home, surrounded by his loving wife, Kim, and children, Brody (Brenna) and Kennedy, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Dean was born on November 28th, 1968, to Al and Nancy Johnson of Brooklyn Center. He graduated from Brooklyn Center High School in 1987, where he formed many lifelong friendships and also met his wife, Kim.

Dean and Kim were married for 29 years and raised two children together. Dean was a devoted husband and father. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and he dedicated himself to caring for and providing for them. He cherished every moment with his family and was always there to support them.

Dean enjoyed fishing, golfing, and above all, watching his children participate in sporting events throughout the years. He loved all Minnesota sports teams, and had an especially tumultuous relationship with the Vikings- a relationship that brought it’s fair share of heartbreak, hope, and memorable Sundays.

Dean dedicated 30 + years to Custom Door Sales, where he began his career working in the warehouse before eventually becoming co-owner of the company. He took great pride in his work and cared for his colleagues deeply. His generous and humble nature was recognized and admired by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. Throughout his battle with cancer, Dean continued to demonstrate extraordinary strength and endurance, remaining committed to both his work and, most importantly his family.

During the final chapter of Dean’s life, his family surrounded him with unwavering love, strength and compassion. Kim, Brody (Brenna), and Kennedy cared for Dean with tender and absolute devotion, ensuring that he was never alone and that he was surrounded by the people he loved most. Dean’s legacy will live on through the family he loved so deeply, the friendships he cherished, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed and forever loved, and his family takes comfort in knowing that Dean is at peace and resting in the loving arms of his Savior.

Dean is survived by his beloved wife Kim; his children Brody (Brenna) and Kennedy; sister Julie (Mike) Provos; his brother Mike (Lara), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Al and Nancy Johnson; his brother Dale, his sister Sandy Driste MacDonald; and his beloved aunt and uncle, Ron and Nancy.

Dean’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Fairview Northland Infusion clinic and to Dr. Brian Trottier for the compassionate and exceptional care they provided to Dean.

Memorial Service 11AM Friday, October 2nd at Elim Lutheran Church, 3978 W Broadway, Robbinsdale, MN 55422, with a 1 hour visitation prior to service.
