Shirley Jean Hutton, a familiar name in the Minneapolis area, died peacefully in Wayzata, Mn. Aug. 3rd, 2026. Shirley was born in Willmar Minnesota Sept 12, 1929 to William and Frances Nelson. Her late sister Donna Force was her only sibling. She attended Hamline University, where she met and married Joe Hutton Jr. (former Mpls Laker) Sept 2, 1950. They had 4 children: Elizabeth, Joseph III (Chip), Robert, and Leslye. Shirley had 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed an illustrious career on WWCO Tv in the 60’s-70’s and then spent 21 years in Mary Kay Cosmetics as the #1 National Sales Director building a record breaking career until retirement. Her current husband, James Harris, resides in San Francisco. A private family celebration of life will be held in Mpls.
