Judith Christine Lang (Shimek), died on July 6, 2026, at the age of 82. Judy was born on March 28, 1944 in St. Paul, MN to Walter and Dorothy Shimek. She married her loving husband, Robert Lang, on July 13, 1963. She graduated with high distinction from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis with a degree in Physical Therapy and subsequently earned a Masters in Business Administration. She was inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and enjoyed a 30 year career working as a Physical Therapist.

For many years, they made their home in St. Paul and surrounding communities before retiring to Arizona. Judy completed three marathons as well as running in many other races. She also enjoyed traveling, dancing, golfing, and quilting.

She is survived by her husband Robert; daughter Kris (Bryan Woelfel); sisters Deb Hanson, Linda (Tom) McMonigal, Vicki Shimek, Nancee Wiskus, and Suzie (Mike) Perry; two grandchildren, one great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Greg; brothers Ed and Bill Shimek; brothers-in-law Ken Lang, William Buckmaster and Ben Wiskus; and nephew Steven Kemp.

We would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Riley Crossing Senior Living in Chanhassen and Brighton Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Judy.

In honor of Judy, memorials may be made to Parkinson’s Disease at the Parkinson’s Foundation Minnesota & Dakotas Chapter.

Judy’s Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 27th from 5:00 – 7:00 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota – Edina, 7110 France Ave. S, Edina, MN.
