Jeanette Walsh Obituary

Jeanette Walsh died Monday, July 6, 2026, at age 87. She was born November 12, 1938, in Hibbing, Minnesota to Josephine (Chupek) and Joseph Zezel, and a proud graduate of Hibbing High School. Jeanette married Bernard Walsh and they had three children: Berna Jean, Brad, and Brenda.

Jeanette worked in many different roles; she enjoyed being an account executive for KFYR-TV in Bismarck, ND and retired from Lifetouch in Bloomington, MN.

Jeanette loved watching sports, especially the Vikings. She was a familiar face at the Mystic Lake bingo hall, enjoyed going dancing and loved having a cat on her lap and a dog to pet. In her late retirement, she participated in many activities and social time. She looked forward to her weekly shopping trip to Costco, with her daughter Brenda, where they would share a hot dog and ice cream.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her daughter Berna Jean Mattheis, her parents, brother Bobby, and sisters: Julie, Delores, Nellie, Eva, Vera, Florence, and Diane. She is survived by her son Brad (Jeni) Walsh and daughter Brenda Walsh; grandchildren, Hailee (Tyler) Achtenberg, Mackenzie (Jo) Schmitz, Hunter (Rachel) Walsh, and Braden (Michaela) Heck; four great-grandchildren and her brother Kenny.

We would like to thank Summerwood for providing Jeanette with a community she enjoyed. We would also like to thank the Park Nicollet Hospice team and the dedicated staff at Chapel View for their compassionate care provided at the end of her life. In her memory, please join us in taking a walk and looking for Canadian geese and sharing a hot dog with someone you love.
