Janet Marie Applequist (Johnson) of Minneapolis, Minnesota passed away peacefully at the age of ninety after a short battle with a serious infection.  Janet was born in Blair, Wisconsin and moved to St. Paul shortly after graduating high school.  She was one of four children born to Sven and Minnie Johnson, including brothers Duane, James and Gary.  She met her husband Paul Applequist shortly after moving to St. Paul, and they enjoyed a marriage of more than sixty years.  She gave birth to four children; Teresa Mann, Cynthia Trousdale, and twins John and Gary Applequist.  Husband Paul owned an independent insurance agency and Janet worked with him for over thirty years.  Janet was a very proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents Sven and Minnie Johnson, siblings James, Duane and Gary, and daughter Teresa.  She loved bowling, playing bingo and traveling.  In honor of her wishes, she was cremated at Cremation Society of Minnesota in Edina, Minnesota.  A celebration of life will be held on August 2nd, 2026 from 3:00 to 5:00 at Janet's daughter Cynthia's home in Corcoran, MN; 10135 Ebert Road. Family requests no flowers be sent, but memorial donations to local charities were part of her final wishes.
