Denise Marie Green, age 69, of Remer, Minnesota, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 27th, 2026. 

Denise was born on March 15th, 1957, to parents Nancy and Murel Jolly. She was the 3rd child of five children. She loved to share that although there were five kids in her family, there were only two birthdays, as her older sisters are identical twins, and for her 2nd birthday she got a brother and for her 6th birthday she got another brother, a fact she loved as an adult but hated growing up. 

Denise grew up in Minneapolis and Forest Lake, Minnesota, before enlisting in the U.S. Army. She later received a medical discharge. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Concordia University, St. Paul. 

Denise raised her two daughters, Jen and Angie, in St. Paul and Remer, Minnesota. Her girls were her everything, and she loved them fiercely. 

Denise spent most of her life in real estate and bartending, both in the Twin Cities and in Remer, and was a pro a networking. She always “knew a guy” for whatever the need was. She was meticulously organized, fiercely independent, and stubborn as hell. It didn’t matter if you knew her for 30 minutes or 30 years, she instantly became your biggest cheerleader. 

Denise loved to travel local and abroad, and for her “retirement” gift to herself spent a month traveling Italy in the fall of 2024. She loved to play games and have a glass of wine or bottle of beer, either on the patio or at the dining room table. She was the local “Hostess with the Mostest”, showing off her culinary skills and fully decorated home and gardens. Her Winter Solstice party was the highlight of her winter. 

After her friends and family, her biggest passion was gardening, a skill she did not pass on to her daughters. She was always happiest playing in the dirt. 

Denise is survived by her daughters Jennifer (Scott) Christensen and Angela (Brandon Arment) Walker, her adoptive mother Janet Scott, and her many siblings, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd “Skee” and Nancy Green, her father Murel Jolly, her adoptive father Harsey Scott II, and her partner Doug Anwiler. 

Denise’s Celebration of Life Garden Party will be held at her home Green Acres in Remer, Minnesota on Saturday, July 25th from 1-6pm, with remarks from the family at 330pm. Her family asks that you bring your favorite photo of Denise to share on the Memories Photo Board the day of.
