Roger Stanley Halverson, age 89, of Hermantown, MN peacefully passed away on July 4, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Roger was born on December 12,1936 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN, son of late Hilmer and Grace Halverson. He was raised in Hermantown and graduated from Hermantown High School in 1954. He started his career at Tastee Bread and after 35 years he retired.

On July 25, 1959 Roger was united in marriage to the love of his life Arlene Thorson. Together they built a home and raised a loving family of four children. Roger was a devoted, loyal, caring and kind husband and father. He loved spending time with his family at the cabin, fishing and snowmobiling. In his later years he enjoyed traveling to Daytona Beach with Arlene. He loved sports like football and Nascar and also kept busy working on vintage cars and various projects with his son Duane.

He is survived by his children, son Duane (Susan) Halverson, daughters Karen (Bill) Larson and Lori (Russ) Dahlen. His nine grandchildren and his 11 great grandchildren and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Arlene, his parents Hilmer and Grace Halverson, his son Clifford, and sister Marilyn Nelson.

He will be deeply missed and memories cherished by his whole family.
