Sandra "Sandy" Lee (Severson) Ramsdell

Sandra "Sandy" Lee (Severson) Ramsdell lived a life marked by family, dancing, birdsong, and an unwavering love for the people around her. Born on August 7, 1946, Sandy spent her years creating a home where people felt welcomed, cared for, and valued. She passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, in the company of her beloved husband, Michael Ramsdell, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage, partnership, and countless memories.

To know Sandy was to know someone who found happiness in life's simple treasures. She loved watching birds from her window and dancing to the music of the 1950s. Her home reflected her joyful spirit as she delighted in decorating for every season and holiday, transforming ordinary days into something special for family and friends. Sandy also enjoyed road trips with Mike, hunting adventures, and the excitement of a trip to the casino. One of her favorite traditions was writing her annual Christmas letter, a heartfelt way of staying connected and sharing the year's stories with family and friends near and far. Whether it was a favorite song playing on the radio or the sight of birds gathering, Sandy had a way of appreciating the moments that many people overlook. Her warmth, kindness, and steady presence made others feel at home wherever she was.

Above all else, Sandy cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love was expressed not through grand gestures, but through the countless everyday moments she shared with those she loved. She celebrated the successes of her family, offered comfort during difficult times, and created memories that will continue to be treasured for generations. Nothing brought Sandy more joy than time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether gathered around a meal, sharing stories, listening to music, celebrating holidays, or simply enjoying one another's company, she made each member of her family feel loved, welcomed, and important.

Preceded in death by her parents, Art and Betty Severson, Sandy's legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply: her husband of 59 years, Michael Ramsdell; her children, David Ramsdell (Nan), Scott Ramsdell (Erica), and Becky Weber (Lance); her grandchildren, Gavin Ramsdell (Kaitie), Reid Ramsdell (Sam), Hayley Pierce-Ramsdell (Zach), Harley Pierce-Ramsdell, Michael Mikish (Jenna), and Olivia Weber; her great-grandchildren, Hallie, Walter, Lilly, and Oliver; and her brother, Terry Severson (Ilene). Her love and influence continue to be felt through the stories shared, the traditions carried forward, and the countless memories she created with those fortunate enough to know and love her.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Invisible Wounds Project Support Center, 840 Lake Street South, Unit B, Forest Lake, Minnesota 55025, to honor and celebrate Sandy's life. Together, we will share stories, enjoy a meal, remember cherished moments, and reflect on the love, laughter, and joy she brought to those around her. Held the day after what would have been Sandy's 80th birthday, this gathering offers a meaningful opportunity to celebrate a life well lived and a legacy that continues through the many lives she touched.

While her family grieves her absence, they are grateful for the gift of having shared life with her. The best way to honor Sandy is perhaps the way she lived: take time to enjoy the outdoors, listen to a favorite old song, watch the birds, gather with family, and appreciate the simple moments that make life meaningful. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Minnesota Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in Sandy's memory, helping support individuals and families facing the challenges of Alzheimer's disease. A life measured not by the years she lived, but by the love she gave. Sandy will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.
