Irene Anne Tschida passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026 in her home in Arden Hills.  99 Years Old, she was born on December 6, 1926 in St. Francis, Minnesota where she grew up on her family farm and later moved to St. Paul where she met Ozzie, the love of her life.  They had 7 children and were married for 77 years. She is survived by her children, Gloria Myllenbeck, Marlene Helmrich (Tom), Ruthann Stark (Bill), Randy Tschida (Jody), Carol Lutz (John), John Tschida, Jean White (Scott), 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Ettl, sisters in-law, Alice Pundsack, Rosemary Pundsack; many relatives and good friends.  

She is preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Theresa Pundsack; siblings, Regina Dobmeier (Lawrence), Alfred Pundsack, Richard Pundsack (Irene), Walter Pundsack (Rose), Mildred Pundsack, Lorraine Ettel (Justin), Melvin Pundsack, Alvin Pundsack; grandson, Nickolas White; son in-law, Steve Myllenbeck; grandson in-law, Sean Sovis.  

Irene was beloved by her family, neighbors and friends.  Always doing good deeds, she taught us to be respectful, kind and to help others.  With her ever-busy and talented hands, she sewed our clothes, planted lovely flower gardens, painted pictures and rocks that she shared with many. A great joke teller, she filled our home with her contagious laughter.  She was so much fun!  

She and her husband, Ozzie, were musical partners, performing at many gatherings.  They harmonized beautifully together while he played his guitar or accordian.  Everyone loved to listen to her yodel.  She also played the harmonica and drummed.  Then, she would start to tap dance.  Yes, she was the life of the party!

Her deep love of God was the foundation of her good life and an inspiration to our family.  Mom, we miss your beautiful smile and bright spirit.  We love you and know you are in Heaven with Dad, your sweetheart.  

Mass of Christian Burial 10:30AM Friday, July 10th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 835 2nd Avenue NW, New Brighton, Minnesota with visitation at church one hour before Mass.  Private interment.  Her funeral will be live-streamed on YouTube. Search under her name, Irene Tschida.
