Arlene Dorothy (Roeber) Farrey died on June 3, 2026, in Minneapolis, MN, at the age of 89. Arlene was born February 8, 1937, in Minneapolis


She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Alma (Petersen) Roeber, her brother Paul Clifford Roeber, and her husband Loren Farrey.


Arlene is survived by her twin sister Arlyss and husband Ray Becker of Falmouth, Maine; and three children: Ellen Suzanne Farrey Goudreau, husband Mark, and children Claire, Sylvie, and Thomas Goudreau of Summit NJ, Ruth Annette (Farrey) Murphy, husband Lawrence, and children Julia and Michael Murphy of Minneapolis, MN, and Steve and wife Sandy of Greenville, SC.


A funeral service will be held Friday, June 19, 2026, at 11:00 am at Nokomis Heights Lutheran Church at 5300 10th Avenue S, Minneapolis. We will continue with a joyous celebration of life lunch at Heather’s (a café just a few blocks away) at 5201 Chicago Avenue, Minneapolis.

She was a daughter of a Danish immigrant and his first generation Swedish-American wife, a sister to a teen brother surprised by the sudden appearance of twin baby sisters, a twin sister to her best friend, a MN State Fair ribbon winner for baking, a college student living with an uncle working for President Eisenhower, a Physical Education teacher in MD and WI, a loving wife of 55 years who gamely visited mines around the world in support of her mining historian husband, a mother of three kids who did remarkable (some of which was true) things, a master plasterer and wood refinisher, a junior high Industrial Arts teacher, an artisan woodworker, and a dear friend to many.
