Sarah Kristine Lambert-Fulton Obituary
Sarah Kristine Lambert-Fulton, age 45, of Duluth, MN, passed away on May 30, 2026, at home, surrounded by family. Sarah was a devoted mother to Henry and James, who were the center of her life. Her strength and selflessness carry forward in each of them. She loved seeing the world through their eyes. Sarah’s celebration of life will take place at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 2310 E. 4th St., Duluth, Minnesota, on Thursday, June 18th, with a visitation at 2:00 PM and service at 3:00 PM.
Sarah was born just after Halloween in Duluth to Tom and Mary Lambert and was raised on the sunny shores of Mogie Lake, just outside Proctor. With three older sisters, Sarah was busy: always participating in some new scheme or craft, whether creating a bird sanctuary, swimming across the lake at the family cabin at Whiteface, or just keeping the peace. She was a great student and athlete and played lots of gin rummy with her Grandpa Art, leading to her excellent card sense.
Following in the footsteps of her sisters, Sarah joined the Proctor Nordic ski team (preferring skate skiing to classic) where she got to know her future husband, Adam. After graduating near the top of her class at Proctor, Sarah received a BA in Economics from Hamline University. Sarah worked in the reinsurance industry throughout her career, enjoying her clients, coworkers, and the complexity of reinsurance.
Sarah and Adam lived in St. Paul and St. Louis Park before relocating to Duluth, with Henry and James tagging along. Their shared love for Minnesota and nature led them on great adventures to almost all of Minnesota’s state parks, and places far and wide across the country. Sarah had an incredible sense of family, and valued her time with her kids and extended family both in Duluth and at the cabin. Sarah loved her dogs Lorelai (Lego) and Aurora (Rory), who will be given an excess of treats by Adam, Henry, and James. They plan to walk them regularly and try to keep up, while also working to develop green thumbs like Sarah (which may be more difficult than the walks).
Sarah was first diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016. With the support of friends, family, and community she pursued every possible treatment to first cure and then address the side effects and impacts of the disease. Throughout, Sarah had a level of bravery, toughness, and love for her family that was remarkable and continuous. The family thanks the entire St. Luke’s oncology team, and especially Dr. Anne Silva-Benedict. The family also asks for your support for public, governmental funding for medical research and cures and treatments for cancer. Without the work of those who came before us, Sarah could not have had ten more years with her family.
Sarah is survived by her husband Adam; sons Henry and James; parents Tom and Mary Lambert; sisters Monica (Eric) Lambert Lind, Dana (Ty) Lambert Larsen, and Amy (Craig) Banker; and many nieces and nephews, friends, and extended family. It has been hard to keep life on an even keel over the past year or two, and it was only possible through support of friends and family, with special thanks to Brooke and Sarah’s parents and sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Henry and James Fulton in support of their future college education.
