Daniel Dean Stallsworth, age 75, of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, passed away on May 2, 2026, at United Hospital.

He was born November 15, 1950, in Denver, Colorado, to Edward L. Stallsworth and Esther M. (Johnson) Stallsworth.

Daniel was instrumental in beginning the first group home for physically disabled adults in the United States in 1974. He spent many years educating the public regarding living with disabilities. In his later years, he was an artist working with acrylics.

He was a member of South Cities Church in Lakeville, Minnesota. He spent much of his time communicating with friends and family through messaging and video calls using his augmentative communication device.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sally (Sarah M. Stallsworth); his brothers, William and Raymond; his sister-in-law, Margaret Stallsworth; and his sister, Dorothy Baudoin.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Ruth Stallsworth of Gatewood, Missouri; his sister-in-law, Sarah Stallsworth of Gatewood, Missouri; and his brother-in-law, Steven Baudoin of Yorktown, Virginia.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 13, at 2:00 p.m. at South Cities Church in Lakeville, Minnesota.

Memorial contributions may be made to Living Well Disability Services of Mendota Heights, Minnesota, or to a charity of your choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
