Dean Francis Leitner, 83, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026.

He joined his wife of 61 years S. Gail (Gouchenour), Parents Francis & Leona (Barenberg), Siblings Norma, Donald & Patricia (Schappert), other relatives & friends. His faith brought him great comfort.

He is survived by Children Mary Le Loper & David Leitner (Monica); Grandchildren Ashley Murphy (Jarid), Chaise Moen (Matthew) & Shaine Loper (Marceline); Great Grandchildren Kai, Reagan & Sawyer & many relatives and friends.

He was born in Herndon, KS, October 20, 1942. They moved to Omaha, NE after the war. He was a star athlete in high school & an excellent student. He served in the Air Force (TX) where he met Gail. He spent 31 years with ITT Life & Hartford. He taught accounting at NHCC. He was a CPA & controller at 2 companies after his “retirement”. He had a great sense of humor, a deep love for family & friends and a beautiful smile.

Services will be held June 20, 2026 at Crosswinds UMC 15100 Weaver Lake Rd, Maple Grove, MN. Visitation at noon and service at 1:00 with a reception to follow. Dean & Gail’s internment will be on a later date at Ft. Snelling. Please join us as we celebrate Dean, share memories, laughs and stories.
