James F. Knight Obituary

James F Knight was born in Hibbing, MN on April 15, 1933.  He was the oldest son of Thelma and Francis Knight.  He moved to Grand Rapids in sixth grade. He enlisted in the National Guard and served in the Korean conflict.  Following his discharge, he attended Coyne Electrical school in Chicago IL, becoming a journeyman Electrician and a 50-year member of IBEW. He spent most of his working years traveling as a construction electrician. 


Jim was a lifetime member of Ponti Peterson VFW.  He was a conservative and loved his country and his family. He enjoyed spending time trap shooting and fishing for the elusive musky.   


He was preceded in death by his parents, wife (Kathleen Knight) and sister (Katheryn).  Jim is survived by his son, Chris (Katie) Knight and four grandchildren who live in Apple Valley, MN, as well as siblings Raymond (Sharon) Knight, Margaret (Paul) Dow, and many nieces and nephews.
