Franklin E. Star passed peacefully with his family by his side on May 14, 2026.

Frank was born in Minneapolis to Earl and Hazel Star on September 17, 1946. He was a graduate of Roosevelt Hight School, class of 1964, and went on to the University of Minnesota, studying Natural Resources. He graduated in 1968. After college he entered the US Army and served in Vietnam from 1969 - 1972. Frank was honorably discharged and worked for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. He met his wife, Mary, and they were married in 1974.

Frank is preceded in death by wife, Mary, parents, and sister, Jackie Star.

Survived by son, Charles, and grandchildren, Adrion, Charleston, and Anthony Star; son David (Ashley) and grandchildren, Nova and Koda Star, and sister, Deanne Greco.

Frank enjoyed volunteering at the senior centers as well as being an avid sports fan, especially the UofM sports. He also enjoyed cooking, reading, birdwatching, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Grove United Methodist Church, 7465 Steepleview Road, Woodbury, MN 55125  on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, visitation 3:00 pm, service 4:00 pm and dinner at 5:00 pm.
