Theodore Frank Olson of Edina passed away on May 25, 2026 at the age of 88. Ted was born on December 25, 1937, in Evanston, Illinois; raised in Rockford, Illinois; and attended North Park Covenant College in Rockford. He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Adelaide Nelson Olson, his brother Craig Olson, his daughter Lisa Olson, and son Jason Olson. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen; brother Steve Olson (Sharon); children Christine DeNio (Denny), Randy Rober, John Olson (Lynn), Ron Olson, Ted Olson (Megan), and Slade Olson (Katie), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ted loved his family, his dogs, his cabin, jokes, American History, coupons, good deals, and local professional and collegiate sports teams. He fostered in all his children an abiding love of the Minnesota Vikings, and had season tickets from 1962 on. He was a born salesman, a great salesman who had not yet retired, visiting National Camera in Edina often, making friends as he was making deals. He always had advice and counsel you didn’t know you needed, from his many and varied life experiences. He will be greatly and sadly missed.

A memorial open house gathering will be held on Friday, June 12, 2-4pm, at the MN Cremation Society Edina, 7110 France Avenue South in Edina. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
