Kyle Lee Eide Obituary

Kyle Lee Eide, 61, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at University of Minnesota Fairview Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Kyle was born on October 11, 1964, in Winona, Minnesota. He spent his childhood in Rushford, his teenage years in Harmony, and graduated from high school in Minneapolis. He worked in automotive body repair and apartment maintenance, but his true passion was anything with wheels and a motor. Whether it was cars, motorcycles, go-carts, scooters, or riding a unicycle through Harmony, Kyle found joy in anything that moved.

In 1997, Kyle made the life-changing decision to join Alcoholics Anonymous and proudly celebrated 29 years of sobriety. In 2020, he received a double lung transplant, giving him almost 6 more treasured years with those he loved. His family will always be grateful to his donor and donor family for that incredible gift.

If there was one word that defined Kyle, it was generous. He opened his home to people who needed a fresh start, often asking for nothing in return. If you asked how many rent checks he actually collected, he'd probably laugh and say, "Eh... not many." Helping others mattered far more to him than money.

Kyle loved music and played guitar, filling his home with songs like Hotel California by The Eagles. He was a lifelong fan of Van Halen and Led Zeppelin, but his favorite song was Dust in the Wind by Kansas. True to his sense of humor, he thought it was only fitting that it be played while he was on hospice. He loved joking with his children and grandchildren and had a gift for making people laugh with his quick wit and sarcasm. A simple man at heart, Kyle found joy in the things that mattered most—his family, his friends, his Harley, and fresh-picked rhubarb.

Kyle is survived by the love of his life, Jennie Jongeward (and her son, Lawson); his father, Stanley Eide, and stepmother, Kathy Eide; his brother, Kevin (Bev) Eide; stepsister, Suzie (Greg) Reyerson; stepbrother, Tracy (Audrey) Alfson; his children, Matthew Conner, Nicolle (Lucas) Moreault, and Shawn Eide; and his grandchildren, Kadence, Karley, and Tristan.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Nila and Jim Ouska; his niece, Penny Eide; and his grandparents.

Near the end of his life, Kyle wrote how he wanted to be remembered: "Gentle, kind, lovable human." Those who knew him know those words described him perfectly. His generosity, laughter, and love will live on in everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Celebration of Life will be July 18th, 2026 from 2-4pm at Emanuel Lutheran Church community room, 2075 70th St. Inver Grove Heights, MN
