Mary Elizabeth Mobeck Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Mobeck passed away on May 21, 2026, at the age of 93. She was born on November 18, 1932, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to George and Goldie Peck. Mary earned her degree from the University of Minnesota and went on to become a Home Economics teacher, retiring from the North Branch School System.
On May 31, 1958, she married William Mobeck, whom she met while teaching on the reservation in Red Lake, Minnesota. Mary was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church in Harris, Minnesota, where she was deeply involved and sang in the Praize Band. She had a passion for sewing, quilting, cooking, and tandem bike riding.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her sisters Elsie McGillicudy, Laura Lindstrom, and Audrey Peck, and her brother Daniel Peck. She is survived by her children, Franklin Mobeck, Andrew (Deanna) Mobeck, and Mollee (John) Egan, along with four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and special niece Bonnie (Dennis) Reek, and special nephew Tom (Mary) Mobeck.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a memorial service on June 6, at 11:00 AM at First Luthern Church of Harris, lunch to follow. Family requests that memorial contributions be made to First Lutheran Church of Harris, Minnesota. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
