Eric Craig Eytcheson, 52, of Hanover, MN left too soon but surrounded by loved ones on May 18th, 2026.

He was born in Des Moines, IA on June 22, 1973 to parents Rick Eytcheson and Vicky Gottner. He spent most of his childhood in Des Moines and Chariton, IA before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with an English major from the University of Iowa.

Eric was a restaurant manager at CōV Wayzata, MN for many years before working at Trader Joe’s in Maple Grove, MN. He was revered for his strong work ethic, infectious smile and laugh and gift for connecting with people of all stripes.

Eric adored (and is adored by) his wife Misty and Boston Terriers Parker and Prescott. He loved good music and literature, coffee shops, food and fitness, the Hawkeyes, Phillies and Cowboys, and most of all spending quality time with his friends and family. Eric made a lasting impression on all who were lucky enough to know him and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife Misty Eytcheson, parents Vicky & Bill Gottner / Rick & Linda Eytcheson, brother Bryan Eytcheson, stepsister Carrie Evangelesta, half brother and sister Ryan Eytcheson & Michelle Van Wagenen, and many, many loving friends and family members.

Continuing a favorite tradition, Eric’s heavenly 53rd birthday will be celebrated on June 22, 2026 at the Minnesota Twins game.  A Celebration of Life is also being planned.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Glioblastoma Research Organization (www.gbmresearch.org) in Eric’s name, a nonprofit that strictly raises money for glioblastoma-specific research and awareness.
