Mark T. Vidas passed away on May 20, 2026, at the age of 74. He is dearly missed by his wife of 35 years, Janet Harvey, sons Eric and Dylan Vidas, siblings Tony Vidas and Susan Davies, grandchildren Vanessa, Ethan, Thiago, Anja and Benji, and many other friends and relatives. Preceded in death by his parents Edo Vidas and Pert Saraf, stepfather Schuyler Davies and brother Paul Vidas.

Mark had a 27-year career at Minnesota State Services for the Blind as a broadcaster and volunteer coordinator. His voice became familiar to blind and visually impaired people throughout the state and country.

Mark’s passion was travel. He traveled to more than 20 countries, plus all 50 states and Puerto Rico. He was always planning the next trip, almost until the day he died.

Mark also loved music and would break into song at the drop of a hat. He loved being an entertainer and played keyboards and sang in a variety of bands in his youth. One of his great pleasures was bringing a laugh or a smile to someone’s lips. His eclectic tastes in music continued throughout his life.

Most of all, Mark was fun. He enjoyed life and wanted those around him to have a good time too.

A gathering to celebrate his life will be held this summer. Arrangements are pending but will be posted to this site at a later date.
