Joseph Russell Hacker, age 53, passed away unexpectedly on May 16, 2026.

Joe was born on July 3, 1972, in St. Croix Falls to Sharon Lind and Richard “Butch” Hacker. He was raised in Cushing and graduated from Frederic High School in 1990. He later earned an accounting degree from Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College.

Joe spent many years working at Pete’s Trailer Sales, where his gift for conversation and ability to connect with anyone left a lasting impression on so many people. He later followed his dream of starting his own business, Hacker Built & More, where he took immense pride in his work. Joe built his life around hard work, laughter, and most importantly, his family.

In 2018, Joe married his soulmate and best friend, Angie Hacker. Together they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories with family and friends.

Joe was a proud father to Paige Hacker (Connor), Taylor Hacker (Brittany), and Keenan Hacker, and a loving bonus dad to Thomas and Makenna Lupinek. His children meant everything to him, and he was endlessly proud of each of them. He was also a loving grandfather to Brooklyn, Brynlee, Paul, and Elleanna. Being “Papa Joe” brought him so much joy, and nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandchildren and making them laugh.

He is survived by his wife, Angie; his children and grandchildren; his mother, Sharon Lind; his brother, Don Hacker; and countless friends and loved ones whose lives he touched deeply. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard “Butch” Hacker.

Joe will be remembered for his unforgettable laugh, huge heart, and incredible sense of humor. He enjoyed woodworking and building things, shooting trap, hunting, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, listening to music, spending time with his wife, and being with his dogs, Henry and Benelli. Above all else, Joe loved being surrounded by his family.

He had a way of making people laugh, feel welcome, and feel loved. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
