Anne Paulette Hedburg-Marts Obituary

Anne Paulette Hedburg-Marts passed away on April 10th, 2026 at the age of 66. She was born on April 29th, 1959 in Little Falls Minnesota to Robert C. and Shirley Hedburg(Larson). Anne graduated from Little Falls Community High School in 1977. As a student Anne was a member of the swim team and the wrestling cheer squad. Anne graduated from North Hennepin Community College in 1981 with her Associate of Arts. After college Anne accepted a job working for Kinder photo in 1982 and enjoyed her time traveling the country and capturing memories for her clients.

Following in her mother’s footsteps Anne joined the Little Falls chapter of the Philanthropic Educational Organization, more commonly known as P.E.O. on December 6 1983. During her 42 years as a member, Anne sat on several different committees and had the honor of holding most of the officer positions. Anne was passionate about her work with P.E.O. and loved being part of their community.

Anne married Ronald Marts in 1987 and had three children (Spencer, Courtney and Abigail) before separating in 1994. Anne has always found joy in helping others and spent her early career working several customer service jobs to support her family. Family was the most important part of Anne's life. She found great joy and support in the close bond she had with her sister and mother throughout the years. From being a Cub Scout leader for her son 30 years ago to attending her grandkids school programs she was always a loving and supportive mother and grandmother.

Anne has always found peace in helping others and found her calling as a Direct Support Professional for Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota. Anne first worked for LSS from 2005 to 2008 when she had to leave for a time after injuring her knee. Anne returned to LSS in 2019 and received a Helping Hero’s Award in 2021 for the hours she volunteered to work during the 2020 pandemic. It was important to her that her coworkers could be home with their families during such difficult times.

Anne’s mission to help people did not stop with her work as a member of P.E.O. or as a Direct Support Professional. She was a mother to all that knew her. Over her years she has opened her door or offered what support she could to those close to her and her family. Anne understood what it meant to struggle and always did what she could to ease the burdens of those she could help.

Anne enjoyed several hobbies throughout her years including sewing, crafting, puzzles, gardening and most of all just getting together for coffee.

Anne was proud to be a resident of Little Falls for most of her life and will be buried at the Oakland cemetery with her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and sister.

Anne is survived by her children, Spencer Reed Hedburg-Marts, Courtney Anne Marts, and Abigail Jewell Marts; her grandchildren Kyle, Grace, Twylla, Conner, Levius, Athena, and Adaline; her siblings Robert P. (Dianne) Hedburg of Duluth MN, Tom (Ginny) Hedburg of Sartell MN, Dave (Deb) Hedburg of Princeton MN, Jon (Laura) Hedburg of Burnsville MN, brother-in-law Jeff Drumman of Oxnard CA and many nieces and nephews.

Anne is preceded in death by her parents Robert C. and Shirley Hedburg and her sister Amy Phillips-Drummen.
