In Loving Memory of Scott Vincent Schroeder January 21, 1959 – May 10, 2026.

Scott Vincent Schroeder, 67, of Rockford, MN, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, at Abbott Hospital, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family.

Born in Tyndall, SD, to Noel and Linda (Luther) Schroeder, Scott was the eldest of five children: Marty (Laura); Todd (Gwen), who preceded him in death; Wendy (Randy) Steidl; and Barb (Dean) Anderson.

Scott attended college but quickly realized his true calling was working with his hands. This led to a successful lifelong career in construction, and he took great pride in sharing stories about the structures he helped build.

Scott met his beloved first wife, Marilyn (Cull), who preceded Scott in death after 28 wonderful years of marriage.

In 1988, they were blessed with their son, Ryan. Ryan also enjoyed working with his hands, and in Scott's words, "Ryan grew up to be a stand-up young man." Scott was extremely proud of Ryan and all his accomplishments.

Scott was happiest when fishing, hunting, camping, watching football, or manning the BBQ. He was the first to offer a helping hand to anyone in need and the last to leave a project.

He was an amazing person to many, a host who welcomed friends as family. Enjoying an old fashioned was always fun and memorable, and he made killer nightcaps (just ask RMKRBH about when he'd bring out the orange pitcher).

While Scott was a man of many passions, his truest passion was always his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jen; his mother, Linda; his son, Ryan (Ginger); his stepdaughter, Bailey; and his stepson, Shane (Elizabeth), with whom he shared a special father-son bond.

Scott’s legacy lives on through his five grandchildren: Laila, Katherine, Emily, Sarah, and Patrick—his youngest and only grandson, who proudly carries Scott’s name as his middle name. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 31st at the summer home Scott and Jen built together—a place where Scott made fond memories with his loving family and developed lasting friendships that extended far beyond the camping season.
