Scott Lindsay Hanson Obituary

Scott Lindsay Hanson passed away peacefully at home on April 28, 2026, at the age of 64. Scott was a resident of New Perspective Highland Park assisted living.

Born July 29, 1961, in Minneapolis, he was the loving son of Ronald D. Hanson and Jean Kathleen Hanson (Sasse).

Scott was an active participant in show choir and lettered in speech at Richfield Senior High School. He attended University of Minnesota and earned a degree in Communications.

In his early 20s, Scott had a small role in the music video for Purple Rain by Prince. Scott was thrilled to even be called back for a small part, no matter the size of the role. He later shared his talents as a wedding performer and competed in karaoke contests across the five-state area.

With his outgoing personality, zest for life, and love of celebrity news, Scott was invited to co-host the Good Company television show on KSTP-TV for two days. He then built a career spanning more than 40 years in the restaurant industry, where he loved being on his feet and connecting with customers at places including Byerly's, Ruby Tuesday, and Wildfire.

Practical jokes almost became a full-time job for Scott. He loved making people laugh and enjoyed getting a playful reaction out of those around him.

Scott loved theater, music, classic movies, celebrity news, and social media. He spent much of his time entertaining fellow residents at New Perspective Highland Park. He especially enjoyed making people laugh and could recite countless famous lines from his favorite movies. Scott was deeply appreciative of the care he received from the staff at New Perspective and Fairview Southdale Hospital. He also devoted much of his love and attention to his beloved cat, “Lil’ Lover.”

Scott was preceded in death by his sister, Denise Hanson, and his loving parents, Jean and Ronald Hanson.

He is survived by his brother, Douglas (Jane) Hanson; sister, Julie (Reed) Peterson; nephew, Erik Hanson; and nieces, Heather Arenson, Kayla Menden, Sara Korfiatis, and Abbie Larson. He is also survived by loving cousin Janelle Wallace, great friend Pete Lund, and longtime friend Kathy Mapes.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 25, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Wildfire.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
