Charles “Chico” J. Rodenwald, 89, longtime resident of Duluth Mn. Died peacefully May 2nd, 2026, at North Shore Estates under the care of Moments Hospice.


Charles was born on September 22nd, 1936, to Wilbur & Mercedes Rodenwald in Avon MN. In his teen years he grew up living on the farm with his relatives in Albany MN before moving to Duluth.


Charles was an avid outdoorsman, he loved camping, fishing & hunting. His best times were with family & friends camping & hunting at Greenwood Lake at the Cabin and opening weekend of fishing with his buddies at the Boundary Waters.


Charles worked for Elliott’s Meat packing for 28 years, many years with General cleaning, Auto Glass Specialist, along with driving cars for Avis.


Charles is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Rodger) Childs, Lori (Mike) Flatley. Grandkids Stephanie (Jeff) Vodicka, Tanya (Seth) Childs, Becky (Mike) Scott, Caitlyn (Hunter Graves) Flatley, Mikayla (Dylan Gray) Flatley. Brother Kenneth (Georgia) Rodenwald, Sandra (Ron) Nystrom. Great Grandkids, Alexis, Kasetin, Jaelynn, Ryland, Liam, Paityn, Mckenzie, Alex, Addi. He will be missed greatly.


Charles is proceeded in death by his loving wife Gayle, his parents, his brother Willis, & sisters Mary Shaw & Ruth Kuka.


The family would like to thank Aspirus St. Lukes Hospital, North Shore Estates & Moments Hospice for the loving care given to their father.


A Celebration of Life will be Saturday May 30th, from 12-2pm at the Cremation Society of Minnesota- Duluth, MN.
