Our dearly beloved Donald, age 80, of Ramsey, passed away on March 27, 2026.  Preceded in death by his parents, John and Vera, brothers: Bruce, Les (Barbara), Wally (Jenny), Douglas and sister Carol.  

Survived by his wife Heidi, sons Aaron (Jennifer), Parnell (Megan) and grandchildren, Sydney, Mason, Bennett, Kellan and Henley, along with many nieces, nephews and relatives and his sister Barbara.  

Donald was born in Elk River, raised in Crown and graduated from St Francis High School.  After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he proudly served as Military Police in Germany. After returning home, he met Heidi, started his family and were married for over 50 years.  

Don and Heidi treasured being outdoors; ice & summer fishing, camping, occasionally playing golf, playing cards and traveling.  He had patience and understanding when it came to teaching all of us how to play cards (500 and cribbage), which he was very competitive at.  Don enjoyed trap shooting, hunting and fishing trips to Iowa, Michigan, Montana, New Mexico, Wisconsin, and Minnesota to mention a few.  He loved coaching baseball from the dugout and the bleachers.  He had many interests, enjoyed mounting deer horns for friends and family, his country music and taking care of his and his boys’ projects.  In 2006, after 38 years of service Donald retired from Federal-Hoffman 

Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, he had a huge heart and strong passion for everything he was involved with.  He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.  Don had a fantastic sense of humor and a great wit about himself.  His spirit will live on in the hearts of all that knew him.   

 Donald was a devout Christan and a member of the church for over 40 years.    

The funeral service will be held on May 21st at Lord of Life Church, 14501 Nowthen Blvd NW, Ramsey, Mn 55303.  Visitation 10:00, service at 11:00.  Celebration of Life will be at the Anoka American Legion, 400 W Main Street, Anoka, Mn.  55303, following the service.  

Interment will be held privately at Fort Snelling.
