Linda Nathalie (Marshall) Pearson, 84, passed away on January 8, 2026, at her residence in Minneapolis. Linda was born September 9,1941, to Esther and Robert Marshall of West Duluth. She grew up with many aunts and uncles and two younger brothers, Bobby and Jerry. 

Linda graduated from Denfeld High School in 1959. After high school, she went to beauty school, which may have forged her life-long commitment to her appearance. While attending Denfeld, Linda met Wayne Pearson, whom she married in 1963.

She and her husband had two children, Kelleen and Kerrick, before divorcing in the mid-1970s. Linda had a third child, Matthew, later in her life. 

Linda struggled with mental illness but remained engaging, likeable and never lost her sense of humor. Always the fashionista, Linda loved her rings and jewelry, painted fingernails, big sunglasses and anything with a leopard print. 

One of her favorite surprises was when one of her kids brought her a DQ treat, a McDonald’s meal or a Starbuck’s mocha latte. Linda would regularly ask her children to pick up items for her and no list was complete without bobby pins and Double Mint gum.  On special occasions, Linda adored getting a fancy new dress made especially for her by her son-in-law Patrick. She also got excited when he brought his scissors and gave her a new hairdo. 

Linda was also fond of music and could play songs by memory on the piano. She enjoyed hearing her granddaughter, Seneca, sing and play the piano. Toward the end of her life, Linda expressed a deep appreciation for the music therapist from St. Croix Hospice who regularly brought his guitar and sang familiar songs to which she would sometimes sing along. 

Linda was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter Kelly (Randy) Brooks, of Roseville, Minnesota; sons Kerry (Patrick) Pearson of Minneapolis and Matthew Marshall of Duluth; granddaughter Seneca Brooks; brothers Robert (Diane) and Gerald (Kathy) of Duluth as well as several nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, Duluth, on Friday, May 8, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to St. Croix Hospice.
