Patrick Joseph Perkett Obituary

Pat Perkett of Eagan died peacefully on April 22, 2026 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Pat was born in Illinois on August 16, 1951 to Robert and Emelia Perkett. He grew up in Hoyt Lakes, MN and graduated from AHL High School in 1969. Pat went on to earn degrees in both electrical and mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1975. It was at the U where he met his wife, Cecelia Harmon. Pat and Cele were together for 52 years.

Pat’s career began at Fisher Controls in Iowa. He later moved back to the Twin Cities and worked at Seagate and Honeywell/Alliant Techsystems. He had a strong work ethic and was a trusted colleague. Though he enjoyed his career and coworkers, Pat’s focus was always on his family. Being a good husband, dad, Papa and friend were so important to him.

As a child Pat developed a love of the outdoors. He grew up experiencing camping, fishing, hiking and travel. He was involved in Scouting and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. During his college years Pat and his friend Al trained and raced canoes at contests around the state of MN. Throughout their lives Pat and Cele enjoyed lots of time at the Harmon family cabin in the woods of Wisconsin.

Pat always had a project going and was planning the next one. Many times those projects were to fix something that others didn’t notice. He especially liked improving things at his kids’ homes to make their lives easier.

Pat is survived by his wife, Cele, children: Jim (Angie), Katie (Lorin Mislan), and Laura (Nathan Schulz); grandchildren, Abby, Hayley, Allison, Maddie, Dominic and Aaron; brothers John, Brian (Lisa) and Bruce (Lola) as well as many other family members and dear friends who will miss him.

A funeral Mass is planned for Monday, June 8th at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Eagan, MN. Visitation begins at 9:00 followed by Mass at 10:00.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Pat’s memory to the University of Minnesota Brain Tumor Program or Grace Hospice.
