David John Freese (“Dave”), 53, of Shakopee, Minnesota, passed away peacefully of natural causes at his home on March 16, 2026. He was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence and laughter will be deeply missed.

Dave was born on May 29, 1972, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Nancy and Harlyn Freese. He grew up in Bloomington alongside his older sisters, Michelle and Kristine, and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1990.

Following high school, Dave attended Brown Institute, where he studied IT network development. He went on to build a long career in the field, beginning with Chemrex and continuing through several company transitions, ultimately serving as a Network Engineer with BASF.

Dave loved being on the road, whether in his Jeep or on his Victory motorcycle. He enjoyed everything from off-road trips to exploring new restaurants and breweries with friends, as well as longer rides across the country.

He will be remembered for his quick wit, sarcasm, and ability to keep a straight face beyond the breaking point of most people. His kindness, and readiness to help others will always be remembered.

Dave is survived by his daughters, Dylan and Paige; his parents, Nancy and Harlyn Freese; his sisters, Michelle and Kristine (Seth); his nieces, Brittany and Laila; his nephew, Nathan; his faithful dog Milo; as well as many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by grand parents, aunts, uncles, friends and nephew, Gavin.

A Celebration of Dave's life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 9th, 2026, with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior (10:00-11:00 AM) all at the Cremation Society of MN - Edina, 7110 France Ave S, Edina, MN.  Reception to follow.
