Cynthia Ann (Bohn) Wharton Obituary

Cindy passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on April 30 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 13, 1967, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Cindy was one of the kindest people, her heart was always open and her smile infectious.

She grew up in Blaine, Minnesota, later moved to Edina during her junior year of high school and then later lived in Hopkins.

Cindy loved her job and the people at FTG Circuits in Minnetonka and considered it the best job she ever had. She was an active member of the Hopkins Elks Lodge where she found lasting friendships and a community that enriched her life. She cherished these connections deeply, always ready to lend a hand and volunteer her service whenever needed.

Cindy's love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew her. She loved going to Green Lake in Spicer, Minnesota, either swimming or enjoying a day of fishing with her fiancé, Chris. She loved her garden and was happy to share the fruits of her labor.

She is survived by her fiancé, Chris Hazuka; her adored daughter, Emily Wharton, and Emily's fiancé, Brian Durk; her mother, Ruth (Susie) Burke and stepdad, John Berge; and stepmother, Carol Skon. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Schommer (Greg), her brothers, Michael Bohn II (Donna), Brad Berge and Bruce Berge; her niece, Isabel Dahm and many loved friends and relatives. Cindy is preceded in death by her beloved son, Brandon Wharton and her father, Michael Bohn Sr.

Cindy will be remembered for her love, her strength, and the joy she brought into our lives as well as her chocolate chip cookies and addictive caramels.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Methodist Hospital, 5th Floor, and the caring staff at Our Lady of Peace Hospice for their support and kindness during Cindy's final days.

A celebration of life will be held for family and friends to honor Cindy's life on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the Hopkins American Legion Post 320. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Cindy's memory to Midwest Animal Rescue Services (MARS) or Our Lady of Peace Hospice, Saint Paul.
