Jeanne Louise Lange Obituary

Jeanne Louise Lange, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026. Born on January 28, 1944, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Jeanne was a kind and gentle presence whose warmth touched all who knew her.

Jeanne had a deep love for music, especially the songs of Elvis Presley. She found joy in simple, meaningful beauty, whether through gardening, watching home improvement shows on HGTV, or traveling. One of her favorite places was South Padre Island, where she cherished the tranquility and natural beauty.

A dedicated and compassionate nurse, Jeanne earned her nursing degree from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. She spent much of her career caring for residents at the Veterans Home in Minneapolis, where she provided comfort and dignity to many. This work was a source of great pride and fulfillment throughout her life.

At the heart of Jeanne’s legacy was her passion for helping others. She devoted her time and energy to charitable causes, including Meals on Wheels and Arm in Arm in Africa. Her compassion and generosity remained constant, leaving a lasting impact on her community and everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Jeanne is survived by her loving children, Timothy Shaw, Anthony Shaw, and Cynthia Tschida. She was a proud grandmother to Jacob, Jessica, and Amanda Shaw, and Caleigh, Olivia, and Jack Tschida, and a cherished great-grandmother to Ava. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Eileen Lange; her stepmother, Elizabeth “Betty” Lange; her brother, Donald Lange Jr.; and her grandson, Nathanael Shaw.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 14, at St. Joan of Arc Church, 4537 3rd Ave. S., Minneapolis, with visitation at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Meals on Wheels, Arm in Arm in Africa, or the donor’s choice.
