Abigail Lynn "Abby" Stadler Obituary

Abigail Lynn Stadler, 45, of Star Prairie, WI, passed away on April 22, 2026 surrounded by family and friends after battling cancer.

Abby was born on June 26, 1980 in St. Paul, MN. The oldest, most mischievous, child of Andrew and Marie Oaks. Abby embodied the role of “Oldest Sister” to perfection and helped to raise her seven younger siblings. She was their trusted guide in how to behave, and perhaps more importantly, how to misbehave. She would do anything for you while teasing you the entire time.

Abby’s five children remain her greatest love in life. The laughter, love, and presence of her kids defined so much of her world. Her eyes naturally sparkled, but never more brightly than when she spoke about them. Her humor, heart, feistiness, and natural stubbornness, is reflected so clearly in each of her children. We see her in their scrunched-nose smiles, mischievous glances, and perfectly timed eye rolls.

She was co-owner of her beloved Star Prairie Sports Bar where she was able to spend her time with her chosen family and co-owners, Jamie and Josh. The love and friendship between the three of them was something everyone wishes they had in their lives. It's the kind of love that takes you as you are, and gets you to where you want to go.

Abby was the kind of person who would help pick up your pieces, even when her own hands were full. She was a second mom, a good friend, and had a remarkable way of balancing mischief and care for everyone she knew. Abby could navigate even the most chaotic moments with ease and her sharp wit, and her unmistakable laugh often preceded her into any room.

She will be remembered as the queen of the side-eye glance that said exactly what she was thinking, for her innate ability to make everything feel a little better with a simple hug, and for never passing up the chance to deliver a perfectly timed jump scare. Abby was the very best kind of trouble.

She is survived by her 5 children Ellen, Jacob, Kurt, Brianna and Tyler; her husband Michael; her parents Andrew and Marie Oaks; her siblings: Katie (AJ), Richard (Tricia), Ellen (Daniel), Mary Beth (Erik), Rachel (Ari), Carolynn, and Maggie. 15 nieces and nephews and her chosen family- Jamie, Josh, and the SPSB community.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the New Richmond American Legion (1260 Wall St. New Richmond, WI 54017). Visitation will start at 4:00pm, followed immediately by the memorial service at 5:00 p.m.

A beautiful life deserves to be beautifully remembered. Following the service, food will be served, and all are welcome to stay, share memories, laughter, and celebrate Abby’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at the memorial and will go directly to Abby’s children.
