Marjorie Ann Erickson, 83, of Edina, Minnesota, passed away April 15 at her home and went to be with her Lord and Savior.

Born in Duluth, Minnesota, to Benjamin and Doris (McLachlan) Schweiger, Marjorie was a 1961 graduate of Duluth East High School and a proud graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth. A devoted Bulldog hockey fan, she remained closely connected to UMD throughout her life. Her professional career began at First American National Bank (now Wells Fargo). She ultimately retired from the University of Minnesota Duluth, where she worked in Continuing Education. In her retirement, she served families at Solvay Hospice House.

Marjorie was known for her outgoing nature, faith, and devotion to family and community. She was a longtime member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church and later Hope Presbyterian Church in Richfield. She especially enjoyed traveling with her sisters and friends and cherished time spent with family.

She is survived by her sisters Jan Smith of Apple Valley, Minnesota; Carole Schweiger of Duluth, Minnesota; and Sue Roed of Duluth, Minnesota; her sons Mark Erickson (wife, Tiffany) and Brian Erickson (wife, Torri); her grandsons Tayden and Riley; nephews Steve Smith, Dave Smith, Tony Maki, and Tom Maki; and niece Carole Olsen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Erickson; and her parents, Ben and Doris Schweiger.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, April 29, at Hope Presbyterian Church, 7132 Portland Ave S in Richfield, Minnesota, at 11:00 a.m., preceded by a viewing and followed by lunch.A gathering to celebrate Marjorie’s life will also be held in Duluth on Saturday, May 30, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.at Portman Square, 4601 McCulloch Street. 

Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association or Solvay Hospice House.
