Gary Heath, 86, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Born on April 18, 1940, in Faribault, Minnesota, Gary lived a full and meaningful life enriched by his hobbies and the love of his family and friends.

Gary was a proud member of the Faribault High School Class of 1958. He continued his education at the University of Northern Colorado, where he became a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and earned his bachelor’s degree in 1962.

After a dedicated teaching career that lasted more than 40 years—including his final 20 years at the Anoka County Juvenile Center—Gary retired in 2004. He spent 34 wonderful years married to wife Linda; together, they shared countless adventures traveling alongside dear friends before Linda passed away in 2005.

Gary held a deep appreciation for American history and was a dedicated collector of Lionel trains. Throughout his life, he pursued both passions with enthusiasm, truly treasuring the many friendships he built along the way.

Gary’s later years were filled with simple pleasures: day trips with his sister Susan, cheering on his grandsons at their sporting events, and catching up with longtime friends from high school and former teaching colleagues.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Neila; his beloved wife, Linda; and his sister Anne. He is survived by his son Jason (Ann); grandsons Sam and Charlie; and his sister Susan. His family will forever cherish the memories they shared with him and the legacy he leaves behind.

Gary will be deeply missed, and we hope the many wonderful memories of him bring comfort and peace to all who knew and loved him. No public services are scheduled. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Gary’s memory privately in their own way.
