Survived by Donald W. Laukka, her loving husband of 57 years. Preceded in death by her parents Derwood (DW) Holen and Ada Holen. Su graduated from Rosevelt HS in 1964 and the University of Minnesota in 1968 with a BA majoring in history.  She and Donald married in 1968 and shortly thereafter moved to Springfield, Massachusetts where Donald served as an Air Force officer for four years. 

Upon returning to Minnesota, Su began working for the U.S. Federal Courts for two prominent Federal judges:  First, Judge Miles W. Lord and later Judge Diana E. Murphy.  Both became Chief Judges for the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Judge Murphy later became Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit during Su’s tenure. Su worked for Judge Lord during the time he was friends with Hubert Humphrey and Walter Mondale.  At Judge Lord’s funeral, former Vice President Mondale sought out Suzanne to personally greet her! 

Su loved to read both newspapers and books.  She was very intelligent as well as beautiful, and a virtual fountain of knowledge.  She was kind to everyone and truly loved by many people, most especially her husband. 

A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota - Edina, 7110 France Ave S, Edina MN 55435 on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Visitation at 10 AM, Service at 11 AM with a luncheon to follow.
