Charles “Chuck” Thomseth, age 96, of Plymouth, passed away April 14th, 2026, surrounded 

by loved ones at the MPLS VA Hospital. Chuck, or as affectionally known as “Sonny” by 

other family members, was born to Arnold and Ida Thomseth in MPLS in 1929.

He was a proud Marine, enlisting at the age of 17, and serving during the post WW II period. 

After his military service he attended trade school and became a tool and die maker. 

Chuck worked at Honeywell for over 20 years and then for Modern Tool, retiring as Executive Vice President.

He was married to his wife Marlene for over 75 years, and they had 3 children.

He was an avid Minnesota sports fan and loved watching the teams compete. He enjoyed 

Bowling, Golf, and Square Dancing with the Bloomington Swirlers Club.

Chuck is survived by his wife Marlene, sons, Craig (Bev) and Mark (Donna), granddaughter Marlene Ann (Brian), and 3 greatgrandchildren, Treyton, Nixon and Keaton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jerry Anderson, son Brad, and many friends and relatives.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, at the Cremation Society of 

Minnesota, 7110 France Avenue S, Edina, MN. Visitation will be 1 pm – 2 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 2 pm, with a luncheon following.

Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on June 2nd, 2026 at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to your favorite Veterans organization or charity.
