James L. Morrison (Jim), 77, passed away April 12, 2026, due to a rare abdominal condition. He was born in Minneapolis on September 15, 1948, to Bernice C. (Miller) and Rutherford L. Morrison.

He played baseball growing up, was captain of the cross country team at St. Louis Park High School, and studied Karate as an adult. after graduating from St. Cloud State with a degree in sociology, he worked in sales and marketing at Northwestern Bell and AT&T where he made life long friends. A strong advocate against stigma toward mental illness or alcoholism, he was serious about his own sobriety.

He is survived by his son Kyle J. Morrison: friend and ex spouse, Kit Megarry; and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4343 Nicollet Ave. A., MPLS, on Thursday, April 30th, at 2 PM. If desired, donations can be made to the Salvation Army or Unicef
