Terry Michael Grace died peacefully Sunday April 19, 2026 at Mercy Hospital, Coon Rapids MN. Born to Jim & Dorothy Grace in March 1955 in Council Bluffs IA. Retired after working many years with the Hennepin County Dept. of Corrections as a Correctional Officer in Plymouth followed as a Case Manager for both adult and juvenile probation in Minneapolis. He never got to write the trilogy of books about those experiences—he had a lot of stories! Terry could talk old trucks, trains, farm tractors & automobiles (muscle cars!), along with US military history with anyone interested. Graduated from Bemidji State University in 1980 (into a recession) with a BS degree in Secondary Ed Social Studies, after meeting his future wife Martha (nee’ Lindblom), when both fulfilled a required PE credit by taking the same Social Dance class in 1978 (‘slow, slow, quick-quick, slow’…both received C grades). Married Valentine’s Day 1981; lived 10 years in Richfield then moved to their slice of nature in Elk River in 1991. In sickness and in health they forged a life together for over 45 years. Predeceased by bis parents, beloved younger brother Bruce, in-laws Stuart and Joan, and a week earlier Martha’s brother Tim. Survived by his sister & brother-in-law Jean & Curtis Kampfer as well as siblings Janice, Cathy, Jim, & Annette; sister-in-law Lynn; nieces & nephews; new and long-term friends, and rescue dogs and cat Darla, Josie and Bob. Will be missed dearly by his wife Martha (whom he affectionately called “Old Sausage”—IYKYK). Terry returned to the Catholic faith in 2020, being confirmed via RCIA with Martha.

Mass of Christian Burial 12:30pm Friday, May 1st at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 566 4th St. NW, Elk River MN, with visitation one hour prior. Live stream will be available (please request link from Martha). Light luncheon served after at the church.
