Richard "Dick" L. Vikla passed from this world on April 19, 2026 with his caretaker Sandy at his side. Born on Aug 13, 1932 and served in the US Air Force 1951-1955. Richard was a junk scrapper and worked for the IRS as a purchasing clerk. Richard and his wife Myrtle (Dobson) were active community members in the Lyndale area of Minneapolis Minnesota. He delighted in coffee and snack hour with friends at  country music jams and his church family. Richard was blessed with wonderful neighbors who watched over him for many years  Richard is survived by a daughter, 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a brother as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his  beloved wife Myrtle, a granddaughter  and 2 sisters. A Visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m.  will be held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church 3901 1st Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55409 on Friday, May 1, 2026.  Private Inurnment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery Columbariam
