Angeline H Olson Obituary
Angeline H. Olson, 86, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Duluth, MN. She was born on May 10, 1939, in Duluth to the late Vincent and Marianna Jablonski. She graduated from Denfeld High School in 1958 and began working at Stadium Lanes Bowling Alley in Coat Check and later in the bar, where she met the love of her life, Roy. He bowled in a league and would often sit at the bar, reciting poetry to get her attention. They married In 1961 and went on to raise four beautiful children, instilling in them the importance of living with integrity, kindness, and generosity. Roy often told his children that he could never have found a more loving or caring woman than their mother.
In the early years of their marriage, Angeline worked as a receptionist for an ophthalmologist and later in ticket sales for the Duluth Symphony Orchestra. While raising her children, she devoted herself to being a homemaker and was actively involved in PTA, served as a Girl Scout troop leader for her daughter, and was a proud hockey mom to two of her sons. She loved bringing people together, often hosting Tupperware and Home Interior parties and treating her guests to her homemade hors d’oeuvres and desserts.
Angeline had a deep passion for gardening and spent countless hours tending to her flowerbeds. She also enjoyed going on garden tours with her sister-in-law and best friend, Diane. In her later years, she embraced travel, taking bus tours to explore new places and experience different cultures.
A talented and creative woman, Angeline sewed many of her own clothes as a young adult and carried that creativity throughout her life. She crocheted afghans, painted ceramic figurines with care and detail, and later took up quilting. Over the past twentyplus years, she lovingly created quilts for family and friends, gifts that will be cherished for generations.
Angeline was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roy; her brother-in-law, Ralph Olson; sister-in-law, Audrey Olson and Diane Olson; her niece, Nancy Lundgren; and her nephew, Todd Olson.
She is survived by her children: Steven Olson (Jacqueline), Kathy Olson Sutherland, Craig Olson (Jaclynn), Mark Olson (Jodie); six grandchildren: Erik Sutherland, Grant Sutherland, Natalie Olson, Lars Olson, Emma Olson, and Molly Olson; brother-in-law, Raymond Olson as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews and dear family friends, including Michael Talarico and Ricardo Suarez-Talarico.
She will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the love she poured into everything she did; from her handmade crafts to the gatherings she hosted. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created and the lives she touched. We find comfort knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with the her husband, Roy.
A committal service will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Saginaw on Monday, May 4, at 11:00 a.m., where she will be interred in the same columbarium as her husband. A Celebration of Life will follow at Skyline Social & Games Bowling Alley.
In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial donation to the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. Thank you in advance for the generosity and support of friends and family.
