Denise was born on August 7, 1954 in Cook County, Illinois; the daughter of Albert and Clara (Libner) Kalka.  Denise graduated from Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary School.  After the family moved to Minnesota, she went to work for SuperValu until her retirement.  After her retirement, she spent her days caregiving for family and friends including sister-in-law Cheri, brother Albert and sister Celeste.

Denise was very proud of being a faithful servant of the Lord. She was especially proud of the time she spent as a Sacramental Minister. She had a very caring and giving spirit, always willing to help those in need.  She was philanthropic by nature, giving regularly to charities Save A Smile, Boys Town, Firefighters and Police.  She was a collector of many things but especially loved her crosses and rosaries. Denise loved to craft and could often be found watching YouTube videos on how to make craft projects.  Her family meant everything to her and even through her battle with cancer she put her family first and made sure we knew how much she loved us.

Denise is survived by her sister Celeste; sister-in-law Beth; nephews Jerry (Dawn), Dan (Kay), Mike (Heather), Tony; dear friend Bob and many great-nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Clara; sister-in-law Cheri and brothers Gary and Albert.

Funeral services are at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 16770 13th Street South, Lake St Croix Beach, MN, Monday April 27th, 2026, visitation at 10AM and service at 11AM.
